Minister Radev: Part of Belene's steam generators can be used by Kozloduy NPP
It is being considered that part of the steam generators for the Belene NPP reactors will be used in the 6th unit of the Kozloduy NPP. This was stated by the Minister of Energy Rumen Radev to bTV. The National Electric Company is expected to provide adequate, professional, independent expertise and evaluation of the equipment for the Belene NPP.
We remind you that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited us a week ago. Then the topic was discussed between the energy ministers of the two countries. The first working meeting between representatives of Bulgaria and Ukraine took place, based on the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of energy, which was signed during the visit.
At the same time, the Ukrainian energy company "Energoatom" explained that they will not sign an agreement for the reactors if representatives of the Russian side participate in it.
We remind you that by a decision of the National Assembly, the Minister of Energy was assigned to start negotiations with his Ukrainian colleague for the sale of the equipment intended for the Belene NPP project, the price of which cannot be lower than that of our country paid for it or BGN 1.2 billion.
Gas claim against Gazprom
"And at the moment, Bulgargaz is working with a leading law firm, they continue to clear texts, possible scenarios," Minister Rumen Radev said in response to a question as to why Bulgaria is not yet among the countries that filed a lawsuit against Gazprom due to the suspension of gas supplies. blue fuel at the end of April 2022. Among the problems before the lawsuit is the fact that "Bulgartransgaz" is the operator of a significant gas infrastructure, through which significant flows of Russian gas, which supply neighboring countries, pass through, as was clear from the minister's words. According to experts, a court case can reduce deliveries and, accordingly, the revenues of "Bulgartransgaz" from the transit of fuel.
There are reasons to proceed with real exploratory drilling of one of the deposits in "Block 1-21 Khan Asparuh" with a potential of 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year in the Black Sea, Minister Radev also said. This is also the recommendation of the consortium, which includes the companies "Total" (Total) and OMV (OMV), which conducts the studies. It is expected that a proposal will be submitted to the Energy Commission of the National Assembly to include Bulgaria, in the person of the Bulgarian Energy Holding, as a partner in the consortium.
The Minister of Energy also commented on the topic of the increase in the price of electricity for household consumers, adds BTA. According to him, serious efforts have been made to maintain growth and for people to continue to pay a significantly lower price than non-household consumers, among whom are not only companies, but also schools, community centers, hospitals, kindergartens, Rumen Radev added.
