The "Technological Modernization" measure is the first under the PVU, an additional over BGN 32 million has been secured so that more of the ranked companies in the country can receive financing

The Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) concluded the first 780 contracts (out of a total of 953) under the procedure of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan (RSP) "Technological Modernization". The candidates approved for funding under the contracts concluded so far will receive a total of BGN 196,363,435. This was announced today by the Ministry of Innovation and Growth.

The funds will be used by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from all over the country to purchase machinery, equipment, and specialized software to increase the efficiency of their production processes. The documents were submitted entirely online through the ISUN 2020 system.

The procedure was primarily aimed at manufacturing companies – for drugs, medical devices and appliances, computers or optical materials, food, beverages, clothing, etc. Also eligible were businesses that deal with waste collection or material recycling, film and television studios, radio, television and news agencies, as well as companies with architectural, engineering or research and development activities.

According to the rules of the procedure, the candidates had the opportunity to proceed with the implementation of the activities on their projects, which are related to the selection of a contractor, already after submitting their proposals for investment and before concluding the contracts. Candidates with signed contracts who have taken advantage of the mentioned opportunity can now start implementing their planned delivery activities of the assets planned for purchase in their projects, the General Directorate "European Competitiveness Funds" at MIG specifies.

From there they inform that the phased conclusion of contracts continues with the other candidates approved for funding who have proven that they meet the requirements for receiving euro funds.

The Ministry of Innovation and Growth provided an additional over BGN 32 million so that more of the ranked companies in the country could receive support. Thus, the total budget of the business support measure is from BGN 260 million to over BGN 292 million.

"The funds were transferred from the technical assistance to the budget of the procedure, and in this way, financing was provided for an additional number of project proposals for the implementation of investments from the reserve lists under the procedure," explained the Director General of DG EFK Iliyana Ilieva. With the additional resource, it will be possible for companies from the reserve lists to receive funds, in addition to the approved 953.
