Deputy Minister Bozhkov: The accident at the "Tsankov Kamak" HPP does not affect the security of the energy system and electricity consumption
"Since the entry of the caretaker government, there have been no hidden accidents in Bulgaria's energy system". This is what the Deputy Minister of Energy Elenko Bozhkov said today at a media briefing. He defined as manipulative and inaccurate the published information about the event at the "Tsankov Kamak" hydroelectric plant.
According to him, damage occurred in the pressure water supply system of the plant at the "Tsankov Kamak" HPP, as a result of a broken panel from a rapidly falling savak. "This type of accident does not in any way affect the security of the energy system and the normal consumption of electrical energy," the deputy minister was categorical. He emphasized that the disconnection of 85 megawatts from the Tsankov Kamak hydroelectric plant is compensated by secondary or tertiary regulation of the frequency and exchange capacities. Immediately after the accident, an unplanned repair was started and the work to eliminate the problem is in progress.
The forecasts are that around November 17, under good weather conditions, the work of the facility will be restored, it became clear from Bozhkov's words.
