Kiril Petkov: The feedback on the Recovery Plan is good, we replaced the gas plant with sun and gas
There should be no speculation with the Recovery Plan. "He was sent to Brussels, there were corrections, we made proposals for such. They are now being discussed and the feedback is good. Nothing is slowing down on our part. We also did something very important - we replaced the gas-fired power plant with the possibility of sun and batteries. " This was explained to Nova TV by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. He was adamant that there is no risk that our country will lose money under the Recovery Plan. However, it is important to spend them in the best way, Petkov explained.
The Prime Minister explained that the construction of the subway is a top priority of the government. "There will be money for it from the state budget," he added, explaining why the construction of the subway was excluded from the funds in the PIA.
The prime minister added that the local elections are not yet being looked at. "Our goal is to quell crises one by one and move forward with our promises," he explained.
In connection with the new head of the BNB Kiril Petkov clarified that there are enough people in Bulgaria with knowledge who can hold the post. He added that he has a favorite, but declined to give a name at this stage.
The Prime Minister stated that he wants Bulgarian specialists in the field of corruption investigation to be attracted from abroad in order to start working in the Commission for Combating Corruption and Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property (CCCCIAP). He said he hoped the bill amending the CCCCIAP would be submitted to parliament immediately after the budget vote.
Petkov explained that with the changes CCCCIAP will be divided into two, and one part will have the opportunity for investigative functions. He added that he has already set a task to look for Bulgarian specialists abroad so that they have no contact with the people in Bulgaria who have to investigate.
In connection with the issue of revoking the green certificate, Prime Minister Petkov said that it must be certain that its abolition will not interfere with the health system.
"We need to be sure that it is not a risk to the health system. There is no policy in the topic of green certificates. We manage a database. When the employment of intensive beds falls and there is no risk to the health system, or if the percentage of vaccination is increased, the certificate will be revoked. Nobody wants it to remain, but we must be sure that there will be no negative consequences. The wave of Omicron is passing. If the data is preserved, we will consider removing this measure. We are now 600 beds. If we fall to about 100, this will be a good limit, "Petkov explained.
He noted that his biggest success so far has been "how we managed and managed the Covid wave", which has allowed the state not to close and restrictive measures to be kept to a minimum.
