Parliament Opens New Session amid Anti-government Protests, President Addresses MPs in Half-Empty Plenary
Parliament opened its new session Wednesday amid large-scale anti-government protests outside its new building in cenrtal Sofia. Inside, President Rumen Radev made an address to the legislature but the plenary was half-empty after the majority walked out in a demonstration against him. In his address, the President said the government should hear the street and resign and the MPs should turn down any attempts for the formation of an expert government by GERB.
