President's veto on the Bill of Amendment to the Mineral Resources Act
President Rumen Radev returned to Parliament the Bill of amendment to the Mineral Resources Act, approved by deputees on August 22, 2020, the Press service of the Presidency announced Thursday.
The head of state exercises his right to veto led by the understanding that mineral resources are national treasure which should be used with care and in the public interest.
President Radev disagrees with provisions that refer to concessions for extraction of mineral resources: using resources of third parties, expansion of concessioners' rights, elongation of concession's period and causing risks for environment and people's health.
