New record rise in daily coronavirus cases in Bulgaria, 240 confirmed overnight
Two record large numbers were reported in Bulgaria in the 24 hours until Wednesday midnight: 240 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed through 4,286 PCR tests, according to data published on the national coronavirus information portal.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the epidemic to 6,342, including 2,917 active cases. The hospitalized patients are 498, including 29 in intensive care.
The latest cases were reported in the following regions: Blagoevgrad – 17; Bourgas – 4; Varna - 16; Veliko Turnovo – 8; Vratsa- 3; Gabrovo – 2; Dobrich – 5; Kardzhali – 4; Kyustendil – 12; Lovech – 1; Montana – 1; Pazardzhik – 7; Pernik – 1; Pleven – 12; Plovdiv – 21; Rousse – 4; Silistra – 1; Sliven – 9; Smolyan – 13; Sofia district – 12; Sofia city – 71; Stara Zagora – 11; Targovishte – 1; Haskovo – 1; Shoumen – 1; Yambol - 2.
The total-lab-confirmed cases in the country to date are at 6342.
129 people recovered over the past 24 hours.
Out of the total, 498 people are in hospitals, 29 of them in intensive care.
The deaths of people who had a positive test result for Covid-19 are 259. The daily number of Covid-19 associated deaths is 5 people.
