School-goers to Have Shorter than Usual Spring Break
The spring break of school-goers will be from April 17 to 20 including, coinciding with the non-working days for the Orthodox Easter holiday, according to an order to this effect issued by Education Minister Krassimir Vulchev.
The spring break will be shorter than usual to free up time to catch up with lost teaching due to the flu days introduced at the start of March, followed by the steps for containing the spread of the coronavirus.
As of March 16 all schools have been offering on-line classes, covering about 700,000 school-goers. The Education Ministry estimates that ten per cent of the pupils were not covered by distance learning from the start as they did not have computers and internet access at home.
