The government postponed again the payment of the concession fee at the airports in Varna and Bourgas. The deferral is for the payment of the concession fee for the first half of 2020. With this Decision the term for the payment of the concession fee is extended by another 184 days, as the installment postponed from 31 July 2020 for payment until 31 January 2021, which was deferred for payment until 30.06.2021, postponed again for payment until 31 December 2021.

With the latest amendment to the Temporary Framework for State aid measures in support of the economy in the context of the current epidemic outbreak of COVID-19 (C (2020) 1863), adopted by the EC on 19 March 2020, as subsequently amended by Commission Communications (C (2020) 2215, C (2020) 3156, C (2020) 4509, C (2020) 7127 and C (2021) 564) (Temporary framework), an extension is foreseen until 31 December 2021.

The implementation of this measure is necessary in order to deal with the severe consequences for the concessionaire Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD of the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 and the measures taken to limit its spread, which have a negative impact on the financial condition of the company - operator of the civil airports for public use Varna and Bourgas, reminded by the press service of the Council of Ministers.
