Ivan Hinovski: TPP "Maritsa East 2" should be replaced by a steam and gas plant
The best project is to have Units 7 and 8 of Kozloduy NPP, as a continuation of Units 5 and 6, explains the energy expert from Slavi Trifonov's party
"As part of Slavi Trifonov's party, we want one of the modern European trends of shifting electricity production closer to the consumer." This was explained to BNR by Ivan Hinovski, former chairman of the Bulgarian Energy and Mining Forum, who is already an energy expert at the "There is such a people" party.
"That is, this model - to develop many decentralized productions of electricity and heat. To form energy communities in which to exchange the surplus of photovoltaic productions - that is to get an equalization of the central production of electricity with distributed, to get this balance ", Hinovski explained.
According to him, in two or three years the large coal-fired power plants, and it is one - TPP "Maritsa East 2", will fall out of the market due to the expensive price of electricity from it. It should be replaced with green production after 5 years. According to him, these coal modules should be replaced with steam and gas ones.

My personal concept, and that of my colleagues, is that we do not need the Belene NPP, this is a burdensome project, and the best project is to have Units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy NPP, as a continuation of 5 and 6 block.
