The Council of Ministers designated 25 energy sites as national and of national importance
The Council of Ministers adopted a decision designating 25 newly constructed energy sites as national sites and sites of national importance, in the sense of the Law on State Property and the Law on Territorial Planning.
"Electricity System Operator" EAD offers the construction of new 400 kV and 110 kV power lines. Functionally, they are connected to the planned construction of new 400/110 kV substations, already designated by the government as national objects and objects of national importance.
The construction of the new facilities will create the necessary prerequisites for the development of the production of electricity from renewable sources, in particular - from solar and wind energy, and the adaptation of the electricity transmission network to the needs of current and potential users. The change will also promote the step-by-step decarbonization of the electricity sector and increase the share of renewable energy in the country's energy mix.
With the new decision of the government, it is possible for the facilities to enjoy a priority status at the national level and to achieve relief in carrying out the procedures in accordance with the Law on State Property, the Law on Territorial Planning, the Law on the Protection of Agricultural Lands, etc.
