The Energy Transition Commission of the Advisory Council for the European Green Deal develops scenarios for the energy transition. These include modeling of electricity consumption and the development of the electricity sector. The focus is on the development of new low-emission capacities and a smooth and structured transition to decarbonisation, which will provide clarity and predictability for both industry and energy consumers in the 2050 perspective.

This became clear at a three-hour meeting of the Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov and cabinet ministers with the managements of the KNSB and CT "Podkrepa". The topic of the conversation was the Territorial plans for a just transition of the coal regions, which are in the process of public discussion until the end of September this year.

The modeling presents the possible options for the development of the existing electric power capacities and the introduction of new ones, for the necessary investments, for the effect on carbon emissions, etc. The scenarios will serve to draw up a roadmap for climate neutrality.

Unions will be actively involved in all stages of the process. A series of meetings are planned in the Council of Ministers in today's format, as well as at the expert level in individual ministries.
