Dragomir Tsanev: We need a culture of energy saving
"We must have a culture of saving electricity. This is a product of our labor and we should not throw it out the window. That is why the information campaign is important. We can save both in summer and in winter." This is what Dragomir Tsanev from the Center for Energy Efficiency told BNR. And he pointed out that air conditioners are the most profitable for heating.
"Direct electricity heating is the most unprofitable - blowers, rheotan stoves, radiators. The most energy is spent on heating and cooling. The human body in summer feels best at a temperature of 25 degrees. In winter - 20- 21 degrees".
In his words, the cheapest energy is the one that is not consumed: "The windows are the weakest part, purely thermally. The most heat is lost from there. The walls occupy the largest surface and their insulation brings savings. Take care of the building shell".
He also advised that refrigerators should not be overfilled and that this appliance should not be in the sun or next to a stove. "60 degrees is quite enough for the water heater," the expert also commented. According to Tsanev, the replacement of light bulbs with modern, energy-saving ones should not be delayed.
