One hundred and twenty silver linden trees will be planted in the Forest Park part of Borisova Garden. This was announced by the Sofia Municipality, specifying that the planting of the first trees has already started.

The young linden saplings are planted in the section bordering Tsarigradsko Shosse Blvd. The afforestation activities are in line with the proximity to the busy city boulevard, as this type of woody vegetation is suitable for areas bordering on busy transport sites due to its ability to be a green filter of the atmosphere.

Planting is carried out according to the technological plans prepared by the University of Forestry in Sofia.

The spring afforestation campaign on the territories of the Forest Park will last until the end of April.

Last year, more than 500 maples and ash trees were planted in this part of the Borisova Garden, which are also resistant to urban conditions. This spring, a total of 1,700 trees will be planted by Sofia Municipality - on the sidewalks of streets and boulevards of Sofia over 900 saplings, 300 in parks, gardens and forest parks of the city and 500 in yards of schools and kindergartens, according to the Sofia Municipality.
