The Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov will take part in the World Economic Forum, which gathers the international political and financial elite in the Swiss Alpine resort of Davos. At the center of discussions this year are ideas and strategies related to economic uncertainty, environmental risks, artificial intelligence and countering disinformation. This was announced by the Government Information Service today.

The Prime Minister's participation comes in the context of the military conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza and the growing global challenges reflected in the Global Risks Report 2024. The analysis highlights the need for new approaches and solutions in dealing with them. According to the report, misinformation is one of the biggest short-term risks, while extreme weather emerges as a key long-term issue.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister will take part in the forum, where these and other issues will be discussed by world leaders and experts from various fields. Academician Nikolay Denkov will participate in a series of discussions and personal conversations. The motto of this year's Davos meeting is "Rebuilding Trust". "The topic is a direct response to the erosion of trust, which is noticeable in societies and between nations," believes the Prime Minister Academician Denkov.

More than 2,800 participants, including around 60 heads of state and government, will take part in the forum in Davos. Leading political leaders will include French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The United States will be represented by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The newly elected president of Argentina, Javier Millay, is also expected to attend.
