Bulgarian associations establish a regional hub for renewable energy supplies
The Association for Production, Storage and Trade in Electricity (APSTE), the Bulgarian Wind Energy Association (BGWEA) and the leading European forum for corporate use of renewable energy RE-Source, are pleased to present the memorandum signed by the organizations for cooperation and promotion of corporate supply of renewable energy in Bulgaria, and more broadly in Southeast Europe.
Sofia-based APSTE and BGVEA joined forces with the founding members of the RE-Source Platform to create a regional hub for sharing knowledge and good practices. The aim is to support the introduction of market development policies and business cooperation in the corporate production of renewable energy in Bulgaria, and the ambition is for the initiative to quickly cover the entire region of Southeast Europe.
The RE-Source platform was founded in Brussels in June 2017 as a stakeholder union uniting buyers and suppliers of clean energy. The platform gathers resources and coordinates activities that promote the corporate supply of renewable energy at the national level and within the European Union.
The emerging regional center for South East Europe will seek to offer a business platform for the exchange of knowledge and information - for both buyers and suppliers of renewable energy - and will work policies to support the successful energy transformation of the region through the implementation of new renewable energy projects at competitive prices.
"We from the RE-Source platform are happy to cooperate with APSTE and BGVEA and to promote their leading role in Southeast Europe. We look forward to working together to enable the corporate energy purchase market to grow and prosper - in Bulgaria and in the region as a whole, ”said Hannah Hunt, Impact Director of the RE-Source platform.
"This strategic partnership is key to our mission to support technologies and business models related to the production, transmission, distribution, storage and trade of renewable energy. We are happy that we managed to create a RE-Source hub in Southeast Europe. We hope to organize the first regional event this fall, which will address the ever-increasing interest of industrial companies in purchasing renewable energy, "said Nikola Gazdov, Chairman of the Board of APSTE.
"BGVEA is happy to be part of the launching RE-Source Center in the Balkans. We appreciate and look forward to future cooperation with partners who share our vision for the development of a sustainable energy sector, providing businesses and households with competitive electricity at zero carbon footprint, "said Miglena Stoilova, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BGVEA.
