What is the role of energy communities in the transition? Experts discuss the possibilities today
A discussion forum on "European decarbonization policy and the role of energy communities in Bulgaria: technologies, barriers and solutions" will be held today at the House of Europe. It is organized by the Chamber of Energy Communities in Bulgaria and the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Development and Innovation.
The event will focus on the theme of building and effectively functioning energy communities as an important part of the energy transition. The discussion is expected to outline current problems and possible solutions for the creation of a community energy system, the organizers add.
Official Deputy Minister of Energy Iva Petrova, Executive Director of the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development Ivaylo Alexiev, as well as energy experts, mayors, representatives of higher education institutions and non-governmental organizations are invited to participate in the forum.
Among the topics that will be addressed are the barriers and prospects for the development of energy communities, the new challenges for energy networks, while presenting good practices in the creation of energy communities, the organizers explain.
