Parliament Merges State Lottery with Sports Totalizator
The merger will lead to the functioning of an integrated state gambling operator
The Bulgarian National Assembly voted for a merger of the State Lottery Enterprise with the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator. This happened Wednesday at first reading of the amendments to the Gambling Act that were tabled by MPs of GERB.
It is envisaged for the incomes from gambling games paid in cash to be limited to 15,000 leva. The current Gambling Act permits incomes of up to 30,000 leva.
The lottery cannot satisfy its needs of personal stations and buildings, and the merger will lead to the functioning of an integrated state gambling operator, whose sole purpose will be
to support the physical education and sports, the MPs who tabled the proposal said. They expect the actual results of the merger to be achieved in the second half of 2011.
