Maria Gabriel submitted an application to the National Assembly that she will not participate in the parliamentary procedure for choosing a prime minister and will not propose the structure and composition of the Council of Ministers, the press center of GERB-SDS reported.

The document was submitted to the registry of the National Assembly this morning at 9:09 am. It states that Gabriel will not participate in the parliamentary procedure for the election of the Prime Minister and will not propose the structure and composition of the Council of Ministers.

In her application, Maria Gabriel states:

"The agreed "rotational" model of the exercise of executive power in the mandate of the 49th National Assembly assumed the replacement of the person exercising the powers of Prime Minister with that of Deputy Prime Minister and vice versa, in a predictable and indisputable procedure. The balance of political responsibility, according to the objective coalition weight of the subjects forming the majority in the 49th National Assembly, was a shared understanding during the negotiations on the priorities of joint management and the decision-making mechanism.

The coordinated refusal and reluctance to participate in the Gabriel-Denkov cabinet of 11 ministers from the Denkov-Gabriel cabinet, through form/form applications and the lack of agreement during the subsequent negotiations, rendered meaningless the procedure for electing the Prime Minister and the composition of the government. Thus, in practice, the development of the constitutional procedure cannot end successfully".

Yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister resigned and announced that the reason for the explosion of the talks was a request to replace the Minister of Internal Affairs, Kalin Stoyanov. Resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov called on GERB-SDS to keep the agreement of nine months ago and "not to throw the country into chaos". He also suggested that the composition of the Council of Ministers be preserved, with Maria Gabriel remaining as Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Nikolay Denkov as Deputy Prime Minister. However, despite his call, today Gabriel filed the document with the resignation of the prime minister's seat.
