Minister Bogdanov: Cooperation with the port of Thessaloniki will unlock new investments in our country

The development of future cooperation for intermodal connectivity with Bulgaria was discussed by the Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov and the Executive Director of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the Port of Thessaloniki Thanos Liagkos.

The two discussed the expansion of bilateral relations with the port by Bulgarian companies and institutions.

"Strengthening strategic cooperation with the Port of Thessaloniki is important for deepening trade relations," the Minister of Economy and Industry emphasized.

"Port of Thessaloniki strives to further strengthen its ties with companies in Bulgaria," Mr. Liagkos pointed out.

"Greek logistics companies have the opportunity to invest in the industrial zones in our country," said Minister Bogdanov. He proposed a partnership with the "National Industrial Zones Company" and emphasized the possibilities for processing containers in the Bulgarian zones.

The two also talked about cooperation with shipbuilding companies in Bulgaria.

The Minister of Economy said that Greece is in the top 5 trade partners of our country. "We are at an important moment in bilateral relations," he pointed out. According to him, our acceptance into Schengen and the Eurozone will ease transport links and deepen business relations on both sides.

Minister Bogdanov is visiting Thessaloniki, where the 87th Thessaloniki International Fair is taking place. Its participants are over 60 Bulgarian companies and organizations from various sectors.

The national participation in the 87th edition of the Thessaloniki International Fair is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
