There are 21 new COVID-19 patients in Bulgaria adding up to a total of 1,632 cases as of Monday, the national coronavirus task force said at its regular morning news briefing.

A total of 321 patients are in hospital, including 40 in intensive care.

The figures for the past three weeks show a peak in the morbidity curve in the week between April 20 and 26 when 433 new cases were registered.

In the past 24 hours, labs tested 527 people adding up to a total of 49,145 tests. It makes 7,020 per 1 million population.

The task force believes that statistical data for the next two weeks will be vital for seeing whether the measures this country took have been effective and for deciding what action needs to be taken next.
